His ID card is shown at the door and his registration can be checked on the Gas Safe Register. For oil boilers I trained with OFTEC and have years of hands-on experience, though I'm not currently OFTEC registered, so I'll tell you plainly if a job needs a registered installer to sign it off.
Do you do evenings and weekends?
My hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Outside those I can sometimes help by arrangement, so it's always worth a call. If I can't, I'll say so straight away.
