I'm one plumber based in Stoke Canon, so how far you are from me matters. Every area below has its own page saying how long I take to get there and what's typical for homes in that spot.
Close by, usually within the hour
Same-day for emergencies during working hours is the norm here.
20 to 30 minutes
Same-day for emergencies where the diary allows, and I'll give you a straight answer when you ring.
Around 40 minutes
Good for booked work, boilers and heating. For a flood right now I'll tell you honestly whether someone nearer would be quicker.
Oil boilers, off the gas grid
Most villages outside the towns have no mains gas. I trained with OFTEC (not currently OFTEC registered) and cover oil boiler servicing, repairs and replacements across mid and east Devon.

How far from Exeter do you go?
Roughly a 40-minute radius from Stoke Canon: Okehampton in the west, Tiverton in the north, Honiton in the east and Newton Abbot in the south. Inside that, the closer you are, the more likely I can do same-day.
Do you charge more for further-away jobs?
No travel charge anywhere on this page. For the 40-minute towns I might ask to group jobs on the same day, but the price is the same.
Are you based in each town, or all in Stoke Canon?
Just me, in Stoke Canon. The town pages are honest about travel time rather than pretending there's a local depot.
