Why are some of my radiators cold at the top or bottom?

Cold at the top usually means trapped air, which is cleared by bleeding the radiator. Cold at the bottom typically points to a build-up of sludge and rust in the system, which reduces circulation. A power flush and the addition of an inhibitor usually restores full, even heat. If several radiators are affected we'll assess whether the system needs balancing or flushing.

Do you install smart heating controls like Nest and Hive?

Yes. We install and set up modern programmers, room thermostats and smart controls including Nest, Hive and Honeywell. Smart controls let you heat only the rooms you use, when you use them, which improves comfort and can noticeably reduce your energy bills. We can also add zoning so upstairs and downstairs are controlled separately.

What is power flushing and does my system need it?

Power flushing uses a machine to push cleaning fluid at high flow through your radiators and pipework to remove the sludge and rust that build up over time. Signs your system would benefit include cold spots on radiators, slow warm-up times, noisy pipes or a boiler that keeps cutting out. We finish every flush by adding an inhibitor to keep the system clean and protect your boiler.
