How I approach it
Everything to do with a gas boiler, from one person. Whether it's a breakdown, the annual service, or the day the old boiler finally needs replacing, you ring the same number and get the same engineer who knows your system.
What I deal with
Boiler repair
Faults diagnosed and fixed, £110 callout including the first hour. Boiler repairs.
Boiler service
Annual service from £95 with combustion test and written record. Boiler servicing.
New boiler
Worcester Bosch, Vaillant and Ideal, fixed-price quote after a free survey. New boilers.
Gas safety certificates
CP12 certificates for landlords, usually combined with a service to save a second visit.
Central heating
Radiators, valves, pumps, controls and power flushing. Heating engineer.
Oil boilers too
OFTEC trained for the many Devon homes off the gas grid. Oil boiler services.
Prices
Parts are priced before they're fitted. No evening or weekend premium slipped onto the bill.
Questions people ask
Which boilers do you work on?
All the common gas brands: Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm, Potterton. I fit Worcester Bosch, Vaillant and Ideal as new boilers because their parts and support are reliable in this area.
Do you offer emergency boiler help?
Same-day during working hours where I can. If you have no heating or hot water, ring and I'll give you an honest time. I'm not a 24-hour service.
Are you Gas Safe registered?
I work with P Harman, a Gas Safe registered engineer, who carries out and signs off the gas work: boiler installations, repairs and annual servicing. We work together on projects, so you get one point of contact and the gas side certified under a current registration. His ID card is shown at the door and his registration can be checked on the Gas Safe Register. For oil boilers I trained with OFTEC and have years of hands-on experience, though I'm not currently OFTEC registered, so I'll tell you plainly if a job needs a registered installer to sign it off.
When can you come?
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Same-day for breakdowns where I can, and an honest arrival time when you ring. Out-of-hours by arrangement only.
