Absolute Plumbing & Heating is me, David. I've been plumbing and fitting heating in and around Exeter since 2010, and I still do every job myself. That means the person who quotes is the person who turns up, the price on the phone is the price on the invoice, and if something's not right afterwards you ring me, not a customer service line.
I'm Gas Safe registered for gas and OFTEC trained for oil, which matters round here because half the villages in Devon aren't on the gas main.
Straight answers on a few things
- I'm not 24/7. Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and I'll tell you honestly if I can't get to you.
- No evening or weekend premium slipped onto the bill. Out-of-hours visits are quoted before I set off.
- Parts are priced before they're fitted. If it's cheaper to repair than replace, I'll say so.
- I don't sell boilers you don't need.

Are you a company or one person?
One person. I'm David, and I do every job myself. You speak to me on the phone, I quote it, I turn up and I do the work. No subcontractors and no call centre.
What areas do you cover?
Exeter and the villages around it, plus the towns of mid and east Devon out to Crediton, Cullompton, Tiverton, Ottery St Mary and Honiton. I'm based in Stoke Canon, just north of the city. Every area has its own page with an honest travel time.
How quickly can you come out?
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, I'll usually be with you the same day for an emergency and I'll give you a real arrival time when you call. Outside those hours I can sometimes help by arrangement; if I can't, I'll say so straight away.
What do you charge?
£110 for an emergency callout including the first hour, then £75 to £85 an hour. Booked work is £60 an hour with no callout fee, and bigger jobs like bathrooms and boilers get a fixed written quote. Parts are priced before they're fitted.
Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes, for gas boilers, heating, hobs and fires. I'm also OFTEC trained for oil boilers, which matters for the many Devon homes with no mains gas. I'll show my ID card at the door.
